The day started early with a trip to Wolf Creek Falls.
We had the waterfall all to ourselves.
After lunch, we hiked to a 2nd waterfall – Little Fall Branch.
Then on to Max Patch for a sunset and Milky Way viewing party. Lighting plays in the clouds.
the sunset was amazing!
But the Milky Way was awesome with lightning still bouncing around the clouds below it!
Last morning in New York, a quick family portrait and time to hit the road.
The baby was happy!
11 hours later Sam and I pulled into our driveway….
We had a quick baby photo session, I think all baby sessions are quick!

That afternoon, we decided to visit the Eastern State Penitentiary – the advertising says it was, “once the most famous and expensive prison in the world, but stands today in ruin, a haunting world of crumbling cellblocks and empty guard towers.”
I was skeptical about “the ruin” part was very surprised at how well they are keeping the feeling of decay.
The self guided audio tour is very well done, with added audio stops at different areas.
The medical ward.
There are several exhibits in the museum, including multimedia films and a look at incarceration rates in the US versus the world.
Cindy Stockton Moore’s “Other Absences” reminds us their are victims, these images are some of the murder victims by former inmates at Eastern.
This was a great surprise and wonderful museum, worth the time when in Philly!
