What I think is a Garden Orb Weaver spider.
Students found a Cicada, so we broke out the Canon 100mm Macro and ring flash. Remote second flash in back and a gold reflector.
Macro photo of toad’s eye.
Vacation Day 9
Hike #28 #52hikechallenge High Knob Trail to fire tower
We packed up camp in the morning and headed back up 33 to the trail head for one last hike.
Again what won’t Clay do for a picture?
After the hike we had a picnic lunch at the the roadside overlook and said our goodbyes!
What a relaxing and fun week of camping and exploring with friends!
Till next year…
Vacation Day 7
The day started with some pew pew (or bang) Jim and Beth had not shot their new shotgun, I wanted to shoot my 357 and clay brought a fun target 22 with 200 rounds.
The clip is empty Sam!
The main reason we left the southern part of the forest was to drive the well known forest service roads, there were some rock ledges (no pictures, I was spotting) and a little mud.
and some great views. This is Meadow Knob, we finished on Flagpole Knob before heading back to camp!
Butterfly wing macro, just because it was pretty.
Cicada Exoskeleton – Last macro for a while (unless I find something REALLY cool)
A good reminder for me, I am about to assign my new Photojournalism I class the Photo A Day project, and I always mention take the picture when you see it… tonight during league tennis an awesome Rhinoceros Beetle flew onto my court, I picked him up and placed away from the court. As soon as the match ended, I ran to the truck, grabbed the camera but couldn’t find the Rhinoceros Beetle, so this what I assume is some type of beetle will have to do today.
Still had the macro lens on, so this dragon fly was next. I had to take the extension tube off and this is still more than 1:2, so really more a close-up, than a macro photo! (It kept flying away when I tried to get to macro distance!)
Some days are better Photo A Day days than others… I started with a macro of this grasshopper.
Then the RCC Photography Department’s Graduation Recognition. A framed “Toast”
So I think I am done with PODs and head towards South Carolina to pick up Sam from her Aunt and grandmother week long vacation.
and the Wienermobile pulls in front of me… and they are hiring! – http://www.mlive.com/news/us-world/index.ssf/2017/07/wienermobile_drivers_wanted_os.html
I followed for a while, hoping it would stop for a picture next to it, I finally gave up and passed it….
and left it in my dust of US 1. If only every POD day was this good!
