Since we had an unexpected trip to Columbia today, Sam and I visited the state house to see the Confederate Battle Flag flying before the SC legislation votes this week on removing it. We missed the protest or rally or whatever was going on, but it was still interesting to people watch.
I decided to skip today’s race and instead continue the romantic theme with a hike to Falls Creek Falls, a beautiful 100′ drop in 2 levels in the Mountain Bridge Wilderness area. The trail head said it is a very strenuous hike for 2 hours each way. It wasn’t that bad but like a lot of Adirondack Mountain hikes, it was straight up till the ridge line…. but the hike was worth it!
