Going where she is not supposed to.
Playing with the Fuji XT-1 – I have never had a camera be so unintuitive.
Look bright skies.
Kodak found a new best friend. These two would have done this all day long if we let them. Porter and Kodak chased each other, ran through the creek, and rested in the mud puddles.
Our group.Hiking up Max Patch.
The 360 degree view included Mt. Mitchell and our trucks.
Marie sung the hills are alive with the sound of music. (Sam’s picture)
For those who know Johnny, this rare, it is not him under his Land Cruiser fixing something. Brian let Heather drive the Land Cruiser, when she crossed a rut on the trail (or drove into the ravine) the front differential exploded? After removing the front drive shaft, we said good bye to the group. I really hope they made it the 4 plus hours home!
We moved to a new campsite in the Pisgah National Forest. I tried a little light painting with a flashlight.
A quiet day. A long breakfast with the Hayes, until the off-road Bocci Ball started through the woods. A little swimming, lunch and packing then time to head home.
Breggs. James and Elizabeth made Breggs while I cooked our cinnamon rolls in their oven (it just made sense because I had to borrow their pan) Our first morning at the COE group campsite on Kerr Lake was off to a great start.
A plan was hatched to kayak the 3 miles or so to a jumping rock, we decided to take Kodak with us in the kayak.
That lasted for a mile or so, and she decided she wanted back on shore. I dropped the dog and Deb off on shore, pointed the way to walk back to camp and Sam and I joined the group.
Jim McNabb dives from the rock. The water right in front of it is reported to be 60 feet deep.
Sam wasn’t so sure…..
But made the leap (from the lower ledge, the same lower ledge I jumped from. The footing on the top one kept me from even considering the leap)
After the long 3.5 miles of paddling back in rough water, Sam decided to try Stand Up Paddle Boarding, in our protected cove while I took a nap.
The day ended with a pot luck dinner and group card games.
No wonder they are called fur babies…. last time I bought this pool for a human baby.
Kodak looks out the back window…. her tongue leaves a mess!

The dog watched the cats sleep here….
Not so cute all the time! Her favorite game… I will carry the ball and you try to kick it out.
Groundhog day…. in a good way.
