Take Clay’s truck….
Add this…. a brand new ARB bumper
So much better.
After leaving Clay’s, I headed to Uwharrie to meet friends from the Olde North State Land Cruiser club for the annual Christmas party.
The event was also my chance to camp in December, fulfilling my 2015 New Year’s Resolution to camp at least once each month this year. Over 40 nights camping this year and at least one night each month.
The party is held on private land and features a barn for sleeping, cooking and eating.
Look bright skies.
Kodak found a new best friend. These two would have done this all day long if we let them. Porter and Kodak chased each other, ran through the creek, and rested in the mud puddles.
Our group.Hiking up Max Patch.
The 360 degree view included Mt. Mitchell and our trucks.
Marie sung the hills are alive with the sound of music. (Sam’s picture)
For those who know Johnny, this rare, it is not him under his Land Cruiser fixing something. Brian let Heather drive the Land Cruiser, when she crossed a rut on the trail (or drove into the ravine) the front differential exploded? After removing the front drive shaft, we said good bye to the group. I really hope they made it the 4 plus hours home!
We moved to a new campsite in the Pisgah National Forest. I tried a little light painting with a flashlight.
Thwarted. After collecting parts for a while, I was ready to do the Tundra brake upgrade on my Tacoma. It all bolted together but the rims from my 1998 4Runner rubbed the caliper. Just about any other Toyota rim works with this upgrade… now I need to find different rims. I returned all the parts, so this will be a Fall job.
Cleaned up the Taco today…
Helping Clay install new OME springs in his Tacoma. When I did my springs, several friends helped as it took 2 days in my garage in NY. In a field in NC, we were done in about an hour. (I hate rust)
I started back on the mural series.
